Eliminate laminate lifting on your perfect binder

Silvering, bubbling and peeling film along the spine and hinges of laminated covers. The steel scoring collars in your binder's cover feeder are breaking the bond. Here is what replaces them, in the same station.

Lamination sells the cover and then betrays it. The film is bonded to the printed sheet, and at every fold that bond is put under strain: fold it over an unpressed or steel-scored line and the laminate has to bridge a broken edge. It silvers, bubbles and peels along the spine and hinges, and a premium cover starts looking like a reprint claim.

The damage starts at one spot in the machine: the cover scoring station, where steel collars score the cover in the feeder just before it meets the glued block. Steel cuts into the face and breaks the laminate's grip exactly where the fold needs it most.

The Quad-Creaser mounts on the cover scoring shafts your binder already has and presses all four creases in one pass, two for the spine, two for the hinges. A pressed crease gives the laminate a smooth, rounded channel to fold around, so the bond stays intact and the film stays down, on the shelf and in the reader's hands.

Spine width adjusts to the book's thickness, hinge distances are fixed or adjustable per job, and the rib pressure comes in light, medium and heavy for different laminates and stocks. Laminated cover work stops being the run everyone dreads.
