Micro-perforation on your web press

Machine-direction perforation that keeps the sheet strong and flat through the rest of the line, then tears cleanly in the customer's hands. Inline, at full web speed, without a six-figure finishing system.

Perforation is the finish that sends web work off the line. A coupon, a betting slip, a reply form or a ticket needs a tear line down the web, but it also needs to stay strong and flat for everything that happens afterwards: rewinding, sheeting, folding, packing. Perforate it badly and the web distorts, the stack bulks and the downstream kit jams. Perforate it offline and the speed advantage that won the job disappears.

A Technicrease cassette perforates in the line. Our fine, flat micro-perforating devices cut against a nylon sleeve rather than bursting the web against steel, so the perforation lies flat, holds its strength through the rest of the process, and still tears smoothly by hand at the end of it.

Blade pitch sets the tear: coarse teeth for an easy pull, 72 teeth per inch for a line that looks printed until someone tears it.

One converter needed exactly this on a Hunkeler line: machine-direction micro-perforation that maintained sheet strength and flatness for continued processing, but tore smoothly later. Two of our devices in a cassette kept the whole process inline with zero loss of speed.
